Wakefield Together is the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) for the Wakefield District.
The LSP brings together key organisations who deliver the many services and activities that affect the lives of people who live, work, visit and do business in the area.
Wakefield Together Partnership involves the following key organisations:
- Wakefield Council
- West Yorkshire Police
- West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service
- NHS Wakefield District
- Wakefield and District Housing
- Groundwork
- Representatives from the Voluntary, Community and Business sectors
Aim
The aim of the Partnership is to ensure organisations in the district work together effectively for the common good of everyone. It works on the principle that many of today’s problems cannot be dealt with by just one organisation working alone.
Together these key organisations have put forward two main strategies which outline a joint work programme to improve the quality of life in the district. These two strategies are:
- The Developing Knowledge Communities (Community Strategy) and
- The Local Area Agreement (LAA)
The Partnership is also an important means of engaging local people in dealing with the issues in the district that affect their lives and where they live. To do this, the Partnership is using various innovative methods to engage the local community.
