Wakefield Together Blueprint

A Blueprint for the district

Presenter at the Blueprint event

The partners of Wakefield Together are looking to create a blueprint that captures our ambitions for the district over the next 10 years.

To meet this aim we have recently held three public events to hear citizens views on the key issues that matter most and will use them to help inform a new community strategy for the district.

Citizens came together in Wakefield, Castleford and South Kirby to discuss:

  • How we continue to build safer, stronger and healthier communities and encourage skills and employment in the district.
  • The planned transformation of our secondary schools and how they can best fulfil their role in the heart of our communities.
  • How we can achieve growth and regeneration and improve the places you live through more jobs, housing and better transport.

Agencies such as Wakefield Council, Police, NHS Wakefield District, Fire Service and many others continue to increasingly work together to provide a better approach to help ensure Wakefield is a place where people want to live.

The Wakefield Together partnership is only effective if it delivers what the citizens of the Wakefield district want and a number of citizens attended the events and had a great deal to say.

  • Full feedback from the event is available in related downloads.
