Nov 2011 - Belle Vue residents are being encouraged to join in a day of action

Ref: PR 3219
Date: 17/11/2011

Staff from Wakefield Council, West Yorkshire Police, Wakefield District Housing, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and other partner agencies will be working with members of the community to improve the Belle Vue area.

The event will take place on Thursday November 24 from 9.30am. St Catherine’s Church on Doncaster Road will be the main hub of activity with stalls and activities focussing on community safety, environmental improvement, dog chipping, recycling and fire safety.

Cllr Maureen Cummings, Wakefield Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Communities, said: “The aim of this day of action is to address some of the issues that have been raised in Belle Vue. By working closely with the local community and other services, we can improve the area and I urge all residents to come along and lend a hand.”

Everyone is welcome to come along and participate on the day.
